Scott Pruitt, newly appointed Head of the Environmental Protection Agency by the Trump administration, spoke on the state of oceanic conditions during his recent assessment of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. "Look at how clean and white they are. No-one can tell me that the oceans are in trouble. Remember, 'White is Right' & these corals are right as rain." President Trump was quoted saying, "We're gonna have the whitest coral ever. It's gonna be great! Believe me, nobody is gonna see whiter corals than in my administration".

Pruitt is expected to slow or reverse much of the new environmental rules put in place during the Obama administration that tightened federal standards for vehicle emissions, water quality and pollution at power plants. Scaling back these unnecessary regulations and deferring to states on environmental enforcement is the process President Trump and Congress have already begun. "The world is dirty, America is clean, America first!" was heard throughout the halls of the White House.
