Tim Conway 1933-2019 i.e. Comedy's Finest

Long before the age of the "Blooper's Show", Carol Burnett unprecedentedly decided to reveal the outtakes from her brilliant variety show that ran from 1967 to 1978.
Most of you know where I'm about to go but for those of you that don't ... Tim Conway, a full-time cast member from 1975 and on, decided to go full-on off script during the taping of one of these future "outtakes" ... a 1978 segment of 'the Family', with Carol, Vicki Lawrence and Dick Van Dyke barely in tow.
The scene stands as one of the pinnacle moments of my adolescent life. A turning point of what comedy was really about. Don't worry, I won't spoil anything. I've attached the video below. All I can say is that it changed my life, as it might yours ... if you haven't seen it before.
Tim Conway was the quintessential comedian. His foremost goal was to make his fellow comedians crack up, as any good comic attempts but rarely succeeds. In this, Conway was the Master. It was also the first time that the unbreakable Vicki Lawerence cracked.
His random antics and ad-libs were pioneering. His genuine love of comedy brought out greatness from all those that he worked with, however-much they hated him from being had.
In the age of itubes and instafucks, where contrived and narcissistic laugh-tracks are the norm, his sense of comedy shines as it is poorly mimicked.
We lost one of the greats today. An inspiration. A gem. A loss. I will miss you Tim Conway ... but I will replay "the Elephant" until my dying days.
